AIFF MP3 Converter for Windows

Convert AIFF to MP3 and WAV Just in 2 Easy Steps

AIFF MP3 Converter converts AIFF file to MP3 and WAV format. AIFF files generally end with a .aif, .aiff or .aifc extension.

AIFF MP3 Converter can encode MP3 and WAV with different encoding parameters (e.g. sample frequency, bit rate and channels). This means it can convert a large-size AIFF file to a small-size MP3 and WAV file.

The software also supports batch conversion. You can add multiple AIFF files and then convert them to MP3 or WAV in batch.

MP3

MP3 is an acronym for MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 and is a patented digital audio encoding format using lossy data compression. MP3 is the usual file extension for MPEG Audio Layer 3. Layer 3 is one of three encoding schemes (the other ones are Layer 1, Layer 2) for the compression of audio data. Layer 3 uses so called perceptual audio coding and psychoacoustic compression to remove all superfluous information (the redundant or irrelevant parts of a sound signal beyond the auditory resolution ability of most people)

WAV

WAV (or WAVE) stands for Waveform Audio Format and is a Microsoft and IBM audio format for storing audio in files on PCs. WAV is a variant of the RIFF bit stream format method for storing data in chunks. This is the main format used on Windows for raw uncompressed PCM encoded audio. WAV files can hold compressed audio using Microsoft's Audio Compression Manager, for example ADPCM, GSM, CELP, SBC, Truespeech and MPEG Layer-3. WAV format is very popular because of its familiarity and simple structure

AIFF

Audio Interchange File Format is an audio file format standard used for storing professional quality sound data for personal computers and other electronic audio devices. This format was developed by Apple Computer based on Electronic Arts' Interchange File Format. The audio data in a regular AIFF file is uncompressed pulse-code modulation (PCM) data. Competing professional grade audio formats are SDII and WAV. This uncompressed format requires a lot of disk space to store files - 10MB for one minute of stereo audio at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz and a sample size of 16-bits.
