AVI

AVI stands for Audio Video Interleave and is currently one of the most common file formats for storing audio and video data on Windows PCs. This file format is described in the Microsoft Windows Resource Interchange File Format (RIFF) specification, which makes it easy for sharing the file with law enforcement authorities and others that may need to see the video. AVI files (which typically use the .avi extension) require a specific player that may or may not be included with your Web browser. An AVI file can use different codecs and formats so there is no set format for an AVI file

MP4

Stands for MPEG-4 Part 14. This container file format is specified as a part of the ISO/IEC MPEG-4 international standard. It is frequently used to store media types defined by the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group, and can be used to store other media types (like subtitles and still images) as well. It is typically used to store data in files, though it will be used in data streams and possibly in other ways. MP4 allows streaming over the Internet

VCD

VCD stands for Video CD or View CD. VideoCD is a standard developed in early 1993 by Sony, Philips, Matsushita, and JVC that allows regular CD to contain 74 minutes of video and audio. Both, video and audio, are encoded in MPEG-1 format and stored on the CD in a specific format (MPEG-PS container). Resolution is 352x240 under NTSC and 352x288 under PAL/SECAM and Aspect Ratio is 4:3. The VCD format has no region coding, so discs can be played on any compatible equipment worldwide.
